AIR FESTIVAL
SOCIAL MEDIA AUDIT, STRATEGY & MANAGEMENT 

Already well renowned as Europe's Biggest Seafront Airshow, Soul Motion has delivered rocket fuel to Bournemouth Air Festival's social media channels. Having welcomed over 11 Million Visitors since launching in 2007 over this world-renowned annual 4 day Air Festival.

 

Having previously successfully implemented new social media strategy for Bournemouth Tourism in 2016/2017, Soul Motion was tasked to conduct a full social media audit, develop a new social media strategy and lead on the delivery for the subsequent 2018 festival.

BRIEF

In April 2018, Soul Motion was tasked with conducting a full social media audit of previous festival years, to analyse strengths and weaknesses in its social media comms, highlighting areas for improvement to inform and develop an effective and optimised social media strategy to drive growth and engagement.

OUR RESPONSE

We conducted a full review of the Air Festivals channels, including investigation and understanding what their current processes were pre, during and post event comms to get a full picture of what was working well and what was not. 

CREATIVE EXAMPLES

A real focus on embracing video content... utilising existing video that hadn't been utilised to the maximum and really pushing the pre-event comms to generate a real buzz and anticipation all the way up to and throughout the festival.

RESULTS

We developed a new social strategy and organic content plan for the 2018 festival going forward (no paid ads) and oversaw its implementation with the internal festival comms team; reducing the number of posts by 45%, developing messaging consistency as well as significantly increasing engagement by 160%. 

 

The results for 2018 completely exceeded the clients KPI’s/expectations with a phenomenal increase in social engagement on both Facebook & Twitter. We managed to substantially increase the number of followers, video views and engagement.
